Frequently Asked Questions
The short and simple answer is that Creators earn 80% of all revenue generated from these subscriptions (after a small transaction fee to cover credit card processing) and FanSpark retains the other 20% to support the platform and continue building out new features for you and your fans.
The more detailed answer is that during account setup, Creators will be asked to create or connect a Stripe account so you can be paid directly. We've set up our system to pay out your net proceeds every month once you've earned at least $100 - this minimizes any transaction fees from payment partners or your bank. Don't worry, if you don't cross the $100 threshold one month, we'll hold that amount and combine it with your next month's earnings until you do, to minimize any transfer costs and ensure you can keep more of the money you earn.
We also hold payments for one month after the end of payment cycle strictly as a fraud prevention tool. This lets us investigate any potentially fraudulent or scam accounts, and stop fan payments from being sent to fake or impersonation accounts, scams, or stolen content - all of which makes fans less likely to stick around and continue subscribing to FanSpark creators like you. So if you've earned more than $100 in January, for example, you'll be paid out in March, while February subscription revenue gets paid in April. If you decide to leave FanSpark for any reason, your money is still yours, and it will be paid out on the same schedule.
A great football play that never happened isn’t interesting. An incredible basketball shot that no one actually attempted isn’t cool. An amazing save by a goalkeeper who only ever existed in a server farm isn’t worth sharing. And worse, when you find out they’re just GenAI, it feels like you’ve been tricked, or that someone won because they cheated.
So we want to keep FanSpark free from GenAI, and let true athletes shine.
Authentic content always wins. Remember, Subscription content is for your biggest/closest fans, so think more “narrowcast” than broadcast. Make your subscription content for your biggest fans, who know you best - not just what’s trending right now.
Post exclusive content! That might mean you’re making content just for FanSpark, or posting to FanSpark before you post somewhere else. But most fans won't pay for content that they can get for free somewhere else, so make sure to give your fans a reason to subscribe on FanSpark!
Discovery videos are public, and viewable by anyone on the site, so this is where new fans can find you! Make sure to post a Discovery video whenever you can - especially as you're building your core fanbase on FanSpark! Use them to showcase your personality and give your soon-to-be-new-fans a sense of what content they’ll see if they subscribe.
We’re building new features all the time, so let us know what you need to succeed. We’re rolling out a ton of new features throughout the rest of 2025, but there’s always room for more! So if we’re not already building it, let us know what you need, and we might be able to roll it out soon!
Last, and most importantly: remember you’re the very first fans and creators on FanSpark, so you have the opportunity to shape the culture and tone of the entire platform. Take advantage of this to help make FanSpark the kind of app and the kind of community you want to spend time in. We built FanSpark to support athletes and sports fans around the world, and now we hand it over to all of you. We can’t wait to see where you take it from here!
In short: post exclusive, authentic content, let your fans know where to find it, and let us know what you want from FanSpark! Beyond that: have fun, and make FanSpark yours!
Discovery content is viewable by everyone and will appear in the public Discovery channel.
